A Riddle of Room Rate!!

I was given the following riddle to solve, and it's baffles a group of senior financial staffs. Try to give me a solution to this if you can:-

3 friends went to book a room in a hotel for RM30/night.

The hotel owner decided to give them a discount of RM5 later on, and ask the Bellboy to bring the money back to the 3 friends.

On the way there, the Bellboy decided that to divide RM5 among 3 person is impossible, therefore he kept RM2 for himself and returned only RM3 back to the 3 friends.

The question is:- After dividing the money among the 3 friends, each of them ended up paying RM9 for the room. By adding up the money that the Bellboy took, it's RM29 only (RM9x3person+RM2=RM29). So why is it RM1 short of the original room rate?

The RM1 missing is already absorbed as part of the prorate calculation by the hotel owner when he decided to return RM5 to the 3.

Look at the other way,
RM30-RM5 = RM25
Divided by 3 of them would be RM8.33
However, this can never be the case.

RM2 taken by the bell boy + RM3 taken by the tenants, that's RM5 + RM25, so it makes up RM30.
